Early on in life, Clay developed an interest in design. He has always been fascinated with the process of seeing a drawing come to life. As a senior in high school, Clay interned with a local architect where he was first truly exposed to the world of architecture. Through this experience, that curiosity grew into a love and passion for both construction and design.

Clay pursued a degree in Construction Management from Clemson University. Upon graduating, He spent two years as a field engineer for a commercial construction company where he learned what it takes to bring a project from design to finished construction. Soon after He decided to go back to school where he pursued his master’s degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. This experience gave Clay an appreciation for the personal side of a project in any field.

His enthusiasm for design and love for people were the driving forces that have now placed him here at Riverbank Custom Homes. Riverbank has provided the perfect opportunity to utilize his gifts by working closely with clients, providing them exactly what they envision for their project. Now in Durham, Clay plans to continue some of his other passions including serving in his local church and fitness.
