David ParkerFounder

As a rambunctious kid, David’s loving and patient parents somehow managed to subdue him long enough to instill a simple principle: “Identify what you’re passionate about and figure out how to make a living doing it.” That transformative concept led David to pursue degrees in both business management and marketing at Appalachian State University. While in school, he gained valuable hands-on construction experience working for a custom home builder in the area. After college, he chose to return to Durham to begin a construction career with a local production home builder. By 2005 David could no longer ignore the entrepreneurial itch and his passion for construction came to life in Riverbank Custom Homes.

As a native of Durham, David’s seen and experienced the transformation. He has a keen understanding of the local housing market and historic infrastructure. He appreciates the story that houses tell about the era they were built and the people that have lived there. David enjoys telling these stories by breathing new life into existing homes and crafting new ones that tastefully blend into the fabric of the community. David’s vision for Riverbank is that the team’s collective passion for the service of building would be reflected in Riverbank’s product and client experience.

David lives in Durham with his wife, Kelly, and three kids, Payton, Haven and Salem. He enjoys spending time with family, church involvement, all things sports related, quick-witted humor and taking-in everything that is urban Durham.
